Born in Belgium, Natalia Brilli started her career as a set and costume designer. In 2003, Brilli joined the Paris-based Rochas label as head accessories designer under the direction of Oliver Theyskens; her designs for Rochas earned her the coveted A.N.D.A.M. award in 2006.
Brilli launched her own line--independent of her work for Rochas--in 2004. Appropriating the emblematic codes of classic jewelry, her designs have an ethereal presence, monochromatic yet weightless, their essence freed from unnecessary detail. Often encased in fine leathers and suedes, the watches, I.D. bracelets and other accessories that come out of Brilli's studio may not perform the functions normally expected of them; in Brilli's world, all objects can be art objects.
