Mühlbauer's founding stone was laid by Julianna Mühlbauer in 1903, with a small millinery and hat shop in Floridsdorf, a suburb of Vienna. Like four generations of his forefathers, Klaus Mühlbauer, the current head of the renowned hat-maker, has worked to make his family name synonymous with exceptional headwear. Together with his sister Marlies and the staff at the family's Vienna factory, Klaus has expanded the company's vision, working with new materials and styles without compromising the quality that Mühlbauer was known for long before his time.
