As the founders of KIOSK describe it, "KIOSK is many things: a travel story depicted through objects, a collection of interesting things from around the world, an anthropological study via 20th century material culture, a shop, several people's efforts to preserve unique and indigenous objects, an installation, a cooperative ... the easiest explanation is, 'It is a store', the hardest explanation is 'It is a living project'.

In 2010, KIOSK selected a small series of everyday objects made by independent producers for Project No. 8. The 'Mostly Mid-Atlantic' collection--now available at No. 8a at the Ace Hotel and featuring objects from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and several other states--will be added to and modified as time goes by. The current selection includes items by Wooly Willy, Wiffle and Johnson's Popcorn.
