Since the Kapital sewing factory opened its doors in Kojima Kurashiki in 1984, the company's dedication to monozukuri (craftsmanship) has never wavered. In the years since, Kapital has contributed to Kojima's reputation as Japan's "jeans capital."
Initially acting as a skilled manufacturer of denim goods for other companies, Kapital simultaneously developed its own style by applying knowledge of fabrics, threads, dyes, and rivets to the company's interest in American vintage wear. This experimental period led to the company's first denim line, launched in 1996. A Kojima retail space was opened to display and sell these original jeans.
Today, Kapital jeans are available at 16 Kapital stores throughout Japan and select international retailers.
