Born in Germany in 1967, Florian Ladstaetter grew up in Austria; his innovative jewlery line, known simply as Florian, is based in Vienna to this day. The designer once described the personality he designs for as "someone interested in art and the crafts of things. These kinds of pieces need a personality from the wearer that is more curious for something fresh, not too serious, but still chic." Ladstaetter, whose collections have been featured in publications including W Magazine, AnOther Magazine, i-D, and Japanese Vogue, often reaches beyond his own line, having collaborated with designers including Lobmeyr, Elizabeth Arden, and Hussein Chalayan. Ladstaetter holds an ongoing series of design workshops at the Hiko Mizuno College in Tokyo.
